Friday Highlights

Film Highlights

Danny Boyle unveils Slumdog Millionaire tonight at the Paramount (7:30 p.m.), and presents Shallow Grave afterward (Paramount, 10 p.m.).

Meanwhile Jake Kasdan takes a trip down memory lane with a screening of Zero Effect (9:30 p.m., Spirit Theatre) and AFF alum Toby Wilkins will throw down the old-fashioned freakout in person presenting Splinter at the Alamo Lake Creek (10 p.m.).

Death in Love depicts the effects of a Jewish woman's love affair with the doctor in charge of human experiments in a Nazi concentration camp on the lives of her sons many years later. Writer/director Boaz Yakin (Fresh, Remember the Titans) will be in attendance at his 8 p.m. screening at the Alamo Ritz.

If you still have comedy itches that need scratching, Who is KK Downey? lights up the Alamo Ritz at 11 p.m. If you need help staying up, try one of the Midnight Espresso shakes.

That barely scratches the surface . . .
